The Bando Longyi Yoga Book is now available. This is a pictorial guide to the basics of Longyi Yoga. It details the history, philosophy, principles, and practices of this unique System. Dr. U Maung Gyi has been generous and patient over the years to share this system with us. The purpose of our Bando Yoga systems is to maintain health, prevent injury and restore health after injury or sickness. Proper practice of Bando Yoga can help provide maintenance of health and fitness, prepare one to use physical skills safely, and lead to a better understanding of one’s body. This can reduce unintentional misuse/abuse of the body. The book is 92 pages that provide guided instructions of basic Bando Longyi asanas — standing, sitting, lying. Asanas that are “free” solo practice (on your own) are covered — the rope is anchored to hands, feet, knees, shoulders, etc. Also covered is the very productive practice of “anchored” longyi — the rope is anchored to a stationary object — pole, tree, rock, door hinge, etc. Anchored practice, both solo and as part of a group (where the group all share the same central anchor), is covered. Sample pictures and excerpts from the Longyi Yoga book are below.
The price of the book shipped to a U.S. address is $45 USD. You can contact Gary Layton on Facebook or contact us at bandoyoga@gmail.com to place an order or get more information.
